Caroline takes the padlock with her and explores the mansion.Īlong the way she finds grotesquely deformed humanoid creatures that attack her, seemingly experimented/operated on with some having amputations: Legless creatures that hop along the floor, swiping with metal claws and spewing blood Legless creatures in wheelchairs that also swipe with metal claws Splayed creatures that are fused to the walls that swipe with enlarged scythe-like hands Legless creatures that are fused to IV drips and are capable of releasing long, protruding steel spikes from all over their bodies. ![]() Inputting the time into the padlock opens the lock. ![]() She finds a pocket watch with the time stopped at 12:35 and the inscription on the back “Time stood still when my two angels fell from heaven”. The door to the bathroom is locked with a padlock. Panicking, she places the bandage back on her face. Removing the bandage, she finds that her right eye has been removed. She notices a bandage around her left eye. She takes the tube out, gets out of the bathtub, gets dressed, and looks in the closest mirror. After waiting so long for this moment, William remarks that he must have patience and can wait a little longer.Ĭaroline awakens in the private bathroom of the hospital/mansion fully naked in a bathtub of green liquid and with a respirator tube down her throat. William plans to test the antidote for the last time on Caroline after he injects her with Maria’s blood. He is relieved that he will finally be able to say goodbye to a lucid Maria and hopes that, in the few seconds of clarity that the cure provides, she will be able to tell him who afflicted her with her illness and what happened to their daughters. William states that after 14 years of research this is the best that he can do. Due to the damage inflicted on the body because of the sickness, however, the subject will inevitably die of multisystem failure after just a few moments. It eliminates the sickness in just a few seconds and the subject returns to its natural state. William has finally created an antidote that works. Once she has stabilized, William seeks to inject her with Maria’s blood in order to work towards his antidote. Caroline is brought to the private bathroom, unconscious and hooked up to assisted ventilation. ![]() He hits her over the head with a lead pipe, which he admits to himself was unwise: Had he struck her any harder, she would not have survived and he would have wasted a potential test subject. Late at night, William spots a young, reckless woman breaking into the mansion. After a few steps beyond the front door in the main hall, she is swiftly approached from behind and beaten unconscious. Two weeks later, she sets out to investigate the Wildberger Hospital in search of answers in order to resolve her increasingly horrifying nightmares. The image of the little girls keeps her awake at night and, when she is able to fall asleep, she has horrible nightmares.
